I am an Associate Professor and Graduate Director in the Computer Science Department at Tennessee Technological University, where I lead the Next Generation Internet (NGIN) Lab. I joined Tennessee Tech as an Assistant Professor in 2019 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2024.

NGIN Lab conducts research at the intersection of intelligent distributed systems, network measurement, and immersive networking. Contemporary systems we investigate include AI-embedded distributed systems, exascale network measurement, low-latency AR/VR, scalable video distribution, and intelligent edge IoT.

Since joining Tennessee Tech, I’ve received the university’s Wings Up 100 Award in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and I’m a Senior Member of IEEE. I’ve served as General Chair of IEEE CloudNet 2021, TPC Chair for IEEE ANTS 2026 and the INFOCOM CNERT workshop, and I sit on the editorial boards of MDPI Electronics and MDPI Mathematics.

Prior to Tennessee Tech, I was a Graduate Research Assistant at Colorado State University, where I received my PhD in Computer Science in 2019, advised by Profs. Christos Papadopoulos and Craig Partridge. My dissertation, The Future of Networking is the Future of Large Data, grew out of software I helped deploy and test at CERN, Caltech, LBNL, and Clemson. I also spent time as a research intern at CableLabs and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.

I’m also active in teaching — I regularly teach Computer Networking (CSC 4200/5200) and Advanced Network Security at Tennessee Tech, and received an Open Educational Resources grant from the Tennessee Board of Regents to build free, open-source course materials for our Computer Networks course.
